Phonic Workshop

This booklet is to help you support your child when learning phonic sounds. We hope you find the information clear and useful and you enjoy learning with your child.

Children learn and practice many of the skills that they need for reading and writing from an early age. They explore and learn in many ways such as singing and saying rhymes, making and listening to music, talking and sharing with others, imaginative and role play and experimenting with writing and stories.

The Phonic’s programme we implement here at Pre-School is Ruth Miskin and the youtube links show you how to say the sounds and the picture sounds.

In order for your child to have a good start in learning phonic sounds, they need to have an adult who will listen to them and talk to them. This can be done through daily routines and activities. This process will begin to build the foundations to help your child begin to read and write.
